Secret Cinema
On the heels of its most groundbreaking production to date, in which a Central London Warehouse was converted into a futuristic spaceship where Ridley Scott’s smash hit Prometheus was staged throughout the month of June, Secret Cinema has announced plans to stage its first ever New York production in the Fall of 2012. For the first time ever, New Yorkers will be able to experience this unique form of “Live Cinema,” a format defined by Future Cinema. Live Cinema allows the filmgoer to step inside the film and creates a unique experience and journey, far beyond a traditional 2D or 3D viewing experience, where the line between actor and audience member is blurred. Future Cinema, the creators of Secret Cinema, The Other Cinema, Future Shorts, Secret Screening, and Secret Restaurant, create large-scale cinematic experiences, fusing feature film with music, theatre, and live performance. Conceived in 2003, Future Cinema has become one of the world’s most prolific and innovative film organizations. Through exhibition, distribution and live events, the company’s objective is to redefine the way audiences experience film, presenting cinema in innovative ways both on and offline.
